The Space Between | Mel Ogden
I started playing with mud in a different form 8 years ago, taking up ceramics to compliment my practice. I have focused on Ikebana vases to utilise material I find in the landscape and I also enjoy making tableware.
I was born in Japan and lived overseas in Singapore, USA and Taiwan before returning to Australia for tertiary studies. I completed a B.A. in painting and sculpture at ANU in 1991, then an M.A. by Research in sculpture at RMIT in 2004. The MA project was based upon 'reverie', an 11 acre landscape comprised of 13 spaces in Lyonville, VIC. My time overseas has had a significant impact on the development of my visual language, with a particular appreciation of Japanese aesthetics, and landscape continues to be my main practice.
The exhibition OPENS Saturday 13 June 2-4pm and continues until Saturday 11 July.
Please discuss payment plans with staff we're happy to set something up with you.
Works will be made available from Tuesday 14 July.
