Pit-fired ceramic made using banana skins, sawdust, vermiculite, copper sulfate, copper wire, alfoil, steel wool, water-sealing varnish
14 x 14 x 12cm
These works have been made from low-fired ceramic material which typically will not hold water or be suitable for vases. To mitigate against this they have been treated inside and out with a food-safe silicon product as well as wax (in the form of shoe polish) on the outside for a slight sheen and to make them more water-tight. While they most likely will hold water, the artist suggests using these vases for sculptural purposes, or lining with small glass vessel to allow for use as a traditional vase, or using them for dried flower arrangements.
Works will remain in the gallery until the 22nd of July. We will contact buyers the following week for collection or shipping details.
